You already know about the Forbidden Palace and the Great Wall of China. You have probably spent hours on YouTube, watching videos on life in Shanghai or Hangzhou. So why choose LoPair China as the company to take you to your dream destination?
LoPair China has more than a decade’s worth of experience in supporting au pairs as they navigate the exciting, and sometimes bewildering, adventure of living abroad. The safety and comfort of au pairs is paramount at LoPair: every host family has been pre-screened and visited at home by an experienced LoPair employee. Comprehensive insurance is provided, free of charge and, perhaps most importantly, au pairs have access to a free 24/7 hotline should they need help.
We also make sure that you find the best possible match with a host family. You are free to interview multiple families before making your choice, and your decision is your own. Additionally, in the unlikely situation where you find your host family is not what you expected it to be, we mediate on your behalf, and offer a rematch service if you decide to move to a new family.
LoPair’s support doesn’t stop once you move in with your host family. Within 72 hours of your arrival, a local coordinator will visit to check that everything is going well. A coordinator will continue to visit every 30 days for the entire duration of your stay.
Substantive opportunities to study and learn about Chinese culture are also available to LoPair au pairs. You will be able to take up to 20 hours of Mandarin classes per week and also enjoy cultural events such as calligraphy and kung fu classes Even before you arrive in China, LoPair organises webinars to help you know what to expect from your stay.
Free weekends and paid vacation days are guaranteed as part of the program, and you won’t have to navigate the city alone if you don’t want to as local coordinators organise hangouts with other au pairs. It can be hard to make friends abroad, so putting you in touch with other au pairs ensures that there will always be someone to eat hotpot with. LoPair Family Club lets you meet other host families as well, as au pairs and their host families get together to hang out and make new connections.
You will also have the opportunity to meet other au pairs when you arrive in China, as part of the 2-day orientation course, where you will also be given a guided tour of the city. Au pairs are only placed in metropolitan hubs such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, making sure that you will have easy access to anything you might need during your stay.
LoPair was founded with long-term opportunities in mind, so even at the end of your stay there will be plenty of scope for you to use the relationships formed during the program to further your career and learning. We have well-established links with reputable universities and companies in China, should you wish to stay for study, work, or travel. There is also the LoPair Alumni group so, even twenty years from now, you can still benefit from your experiences in China.
In March 2017, Georgina Pinson, as part of the LoPair program, won the prestigious International Au Pair Association award for Au Pair of the Year. LoPair was the first Chinese company to be bestowed with such an honour, and we are proud of the work we have achieved together.
We look forward to supporting you on your journey to China, and beyond.
