They left China — but took it home 💛

Hey everyone! Late summer always hits different in the Au Pair China. Back with some happy news from LoPair (and, okay, a few happy tears 😭💛) — a bunch of our au pairs just wrapped up their time in China, and wow, what a ride it's been. We laughed, we traveled, we ate way too many snacks together — and now they're heading home with stories most tourists never get to tell. ✨

"Came to China with zero clue what to expect, and honestly? Best call I ever made 💛 I got to live the culture, the history, all these traditions for real — and the language just kinda stuck to me while I was at it. Made friends for life, too. And the monthly craft meetups where we'd all try different stuff and just hang out?? Those were everything. Already missing it."

"Okay so people weren't kidding — China will test you 😅 But it changed me, for real. The hardest bit was moving in with a family I'd never met, but sometime after month three everything just… clicked. I still think about that family and their kid all the time, lowkey grateful I said yes. Also?? I'm obsessed with 鱼腥草 (Yú Xīng Cǎo / Houttuynia) now — crunchy, sour, SO good, and my host family loses it every time I crave it 😂 Loved my Chinese classes too. Grew way more than I thought I would."

Right as we're saying bye, a fresh crew of Au Pair China arrivals has touched down and is busy settling in — hunting for their favorite food 🍜, meeting more students, and getting ready for the university semester this autumn. We‘re already obsessed and can't wait to share their first impressions soon.
